RowFin Privacy Policy

The short version

RowFin does not collect, store, transmit or sell any personal data. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party code in the app. Everything you create lives on your iPad.

What stays on your iPad

Your workspaces, maps, preplans, notes, Log Book entries, Library documents, snapshots and settings are stored in the app's own container on the device. They leave the device only when you choose to share or export them: a share file, a backup file, AirDrop, the Files app or a document you send from the share sheet. Those files go where you send them and nowhere else.

Apple Maps

When you capture a map area, RowFin asks Apple's MapKit for a map image of the region you framed. That request goes to Apple under Apple's privacy policy; RowFin adds nothing to it and keeps no record of it beyond the captured image on your iPad. Turn Apple Maps capture off in SETTINGS to use the app fully offline.

Microphone and dictation

The Log Book can take dictation. Speech is recognised on the iPad itself, by Apple's on-device speech recognition: no audio and no text leaves the device, and RowFin keeps only the words you file as an entry. The first tap of the microphone asks for the microphone and speech-recognition permissions; refuse them and you can still type.

Files you bring in

Documents, images and PDFs you import are copied into the app's container so they open without the original. They are not read by anyone but you and are not sent anywhere. Searching inside them happens on the device.

Permissions

RowFin asks for two permissions, and only when you tap the Log Book's microphone: the microphone and speech recognition. Picking a photo uses the system photo picker, which shows the app only the photo you choose.

Children

RowFin is a professional tool and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone of any age.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date. The app itself will not start collecting data without this page saying so first.
